Font Choices

Font choices for personalised jewellery.

We sometimes get asked how many letters or words can be engraved on a personalised piece.

This is a very good question, as some of us come from large families and would like all family member names engraved on their piece.

The answer I guess comes down to what font style is used.

If we use a true type font in bold, the writing is quite large so not to many letters would be able to fit. However If we use a single line type font we are able to engrave to a very fine detail.

We used this font style for a client from Rhee International Taekwondo (RTKD). They were after a gift idea to reward  their students when they became black belts.

They Like the idea of Gold Filled Cufflinks, so we discussed options to enable them to have their logo engraved on the top.

The cufflink top is 15.80mm in diameter and required at least 38 characters to be engraved around the outside edge.

A single line font in uppercase was the perfect font to enable us to do this.

We engraved this to a depth of 0.12mm to enable a patina to blacken the font area so it stands out.

Everyone was extremely happy with the finished product.

If you have any questions about how many letters or words can fit on your personalised jewellery piece, please give us a call.

Kindest Regards,
